Support
Turas is made by one person. Mail lands in a real inbox and gets a real reply, usually within a couple of days.
Please include your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version (bottom of Settings) and, for a route problem, the centre and route name.
Common questions
- How do I delete my account?
- In the app: Settings → Delete Account. It deletes your account and your data from our server and from your phone, including every drive. It does not cancel a subscription; cancel that with Apple first (below).
- How do I delete a drive, or stop sharing drives?
- Settings → Your Drives lists your shared drives; delete any one and its location points and answers are removed from our server. To stop sharing, turn off Settings → Share drives to improve routes. With it off, the app still guides you but uploads no positions. When it is on, the app sends your position every 10 seconds of a drive, the whole drive, and we keep the points for 400 days. With location set to Always it also records a drive by itself when you wait at your test centre and then drive off; turn that off with Settings → Record drives from my centre.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Turas → Cancel Subscription, or in the app Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. A Centre Pass never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.
- I want a refund.
- Apple takes the payment, so Apple decides refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
- I paid, but the routes are still locked. / I have a new phone.
- Open Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in to the same Apple Account that paid. Signing in with Apple in Settings keeps your passes and subscription attached to your account on any phone. If routes are still locked, email us your Apple order ID.
- A route is wrong, or a road has changed.
- Tap Report in drive mode once the car is stopped, or go to Settings → Report a Problem with a Route. Choose what was wrong (wrong turn, road closed, roadworks, or other) and add a note if you like. Reports go straight to the person who fixes the routes. You can also email us.
- Does it work with CarPlay?
- A CarPlay screen is being built. It needs Apple's approval for navigation apps, so until then CarPlay may show "CarPlay is coming soon". When it is on, a drive started on the phone or in the car continues on the other.
- Is this the official RSA route?
- No. Turas is not affiliated with the Road Safety Authority. Each route is labelled "From real tests" or "Practice route", and examiners can use any route, so no route is guaranteed to match your test. It is practice alongside lessons, not a replacement for them.
- How many routes are free?
- 1 route at every centre is free. A Centre Pass unlocks every route at one centre for 30, 60 or 90 days; the All Centres subscription or Lifetime unlocks every centre. Prices are in the Subscription Terms and shown in the app before you pay.
- Can I use my phone while driving?
- Not in your hand: holding a phone while driving is illegal in Ireland. Mount it in a cradle or use CarPlay, pick your route before you move off, and let the voice guide you. While the car moves, the app only accepts mute and end. Learners must drive with an accompanying qualified driver.
- Does it work without signal?
- Voice guidance works offline, and a route you have opened once is saved on the phone. The map itself comes from Apple Maps, so roads you have not viewed before may need a connection to draw.
Requirements
